On October, 11th 2009, nine architects and designers traveled to Havana, Cuba, on a historic voyage. The trip was initiated by Noushin Ehsan, AIA, chair of the AIANY Global Dialogues Committee, and Margaret Castillo, AIA, LEED AP, AIANY Vice President for Public Outreach. The Fundación Amistad, under the leadership of its president Luly Duke, transformed the proposed wish list into a trip that exceeded everyone’s expectations.

On July 8, 2009, Noushin Ehsan will moderate the lecture, “Globalization and Local Essences: Modern Developments in Dubai and Abu Dhabi” at the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter.  The presenters include: Sudhir Jambhekar, Senior  Partner at FXFOWLE; Brian Kowalchuk, Director of Design at HDR/CUH2A; Frank Sabouri, International Sustainability Consultant; and Jonathan Stark, Principal and Director at Perkins Eastman International.

On May 8, 2009, Noushin Ehsan moderated a trailer screening, panel discussion, and silent auction for the documentary film, “Unfinished Spaces: Cuba’s Architecture of Revolution,” at the Center for Architecture in New York City.

On May 4, 2009, Noushin Ehsan moderated the lecture, “Promoting Unity in Diversity through Design,” presented by Manfredi Nicoletti of Studio Nicoletti Associati at the Center for Architecture in New York City.

On April 14, 2009, Noushin Ehsan moderated the lecture, “Globalization and Local Essences: Modern Developments in Dubai and Abu Dhabi” at The National Arts Club in New York City.  The presenters included: Sudhir Jambhekar, Senior Partner at FXFOWLE; Brian Kowalchuk, Director of Design at HDR/CUH2A; and Frank Sabouri, International Sustainability Consultant. 

In January 2009, Noushin Ehsan was selected as Chair for the Global Dialogue Committee at the American Institute of Architecture New York Chapter.

In autumn of 2008, the firm 2nd Opinion Design was featured in “Passport” magazine in Litchfield, Connecticut by Nancy Barnes.

On November 6th, 2008, Noushin Ehsan spoke at Wakpa Sica Reconciliation Place in South Dakota.The lecture was on "The Spirit of Space"

On August 1, 2008, 2nd Opinion Design was featured in “AIArchitect” by Russell Boniface.

On April 7, 2008, Noushin spoke at the Center for Architecture. The lecture was on "The Spirit of Space" and featured in “eOculus” by Lisa Delgado on 4/29/08.

On Jan. 23, 2008, Noushin Ehsan delivered a lecture at The National Arts Club in New York on the “The Spirit of Space”, discussing the impact of man made environments on human behavior. The lecture was featured in "Architectural Record" by Rebecca Ward issue 1/25/08.

On Aug 31, 2007, Noushin Ehsan, as one of six jurors, among 270 participants from around the world, selected the winner of the competition, “Imagination and Migration: Migrants in New York,” for designing a museum for immigrants in Battery Park, lower Manhattan, overlooking the Statue of Liberty. Presentation of the winning projects was held on November 9th of the same year at the Museum of the City of New York. As the representative of the jurors, Noushin Ehsan explained the criteria for selecting the finalists.

On Aug. 17, 2007, Noushin Ehsan delivered a lecture at ABS North America's 31st Annual Conference in Mississauga Ontario, Canada, entitled “Passion as an Engine to Creation”, emphasizing how we can channel our passion in our profession to creations that uplift the human spirit.

Noushin is compiling interesting stories about “Coincidences” that have occurred in people's lives. She plans to incorporatethem with her own stories and publish them as an anthology.  Submissions are welcome.

The first Monday of every month, Noushin Ehsan hosts and moderates a discussion of varying topics, such as “The Impact of Spirituality in Our Profession,”  “Awakening the Spirit Within,” “The Impact of Art in Healing," and “The Impact of Art and Theater on Children’s Behavior.” to attend please call or email.
